Dr. Cecilia Penn, MD, MPH, FAAP
Pediatric and Preventive Medicine Physician
Dr. Penn is a Board Certified Pediatrician and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Penn received her college education at Cornell University, where she obtained a Bachelors of Arts in Biology and Society in May 1997. With a focus on primary care and preventive medicine in under-served communities, she obtained her medical degree at Howard University College of Medicine in May 2001.
Dr. Penn completed her post-graduate training in pediatrics at the New York Presbyterian Hospital-Columbia University, where she also received specialty training in Community Pediatrics through the Anne E. Dyson Community Pediatrics Program. She obtained further training in Preventive Medicine and obtained a Master in Public Health (MPH) degree in Health Policy and Management/International Health from The Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health in June 2006.
To achieve practical experience in public health/policy, Dr. Penn received the distinguished Luther Terry Fellowship within the Office of the Surgeon General and worked in the Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services in Washington, DC.
Dr. Penn is committed to practicing community pediatrics, improving quality care, serving the under-served, and working towards systemic changes that affect health status. She now serves as a private practice Pediatrician and Chief of Pediatrics and Performance Improvement Physician for Schneider Regional Medical Center.
Dr. Penn enjoys playing the piano, spending time with her family, and exercising.
